WATER RESILIENCE

24th November 2025

WP 5

University of Oradea

Objective

The objective of the Water Resilience event is to enhance students’ understanding of local water quality and environmental sustainability through hands-on scientific investigation. By testing water samples from the Peta River (hot water), the Crișul Repede River, and wastewater from the university canteen, students will explore pollution sources, assess water conditions, and learn the importance of continuous monitoring. The event aims to cultivate environmental responsibility, encourage informed decision-making, and promote collaborative efforts toward protecting and strengthening water resilience within the community.

Activities

Participating students will have the opportunity to personally take water samples on the campus of the University of Oradea, which they analyzed, both in situ (pH, temperature) and ex situ, total suspensions, CCO-Cr, CBO5, Nt, Pt, NH4+, at the Physico-Chemical Analysis Laboratory of the Faculty of Environmental Protection.
