This unit is equipped with specialist scientific apparatus for determining the porosity, surface area and solid density of materials of any kind. It also carries out surface studies using chemisorption tests. Furthermore, it has the necessary instrumentation to carry out studies related to surface, physical and structural chemical changes as a function of temperature. It employs a range of analytical techniques that explain the thermal behaviour of materials by monitoring different properties of the sample in a specific atmosphere, as a function of temperature or time when the sample is subjected to a controlled temperature programme. It is possible to carry out high-pressure tests, as well as monitoring gas profiles using mass spectrometry and/or FTIR spectroscopy. Share on
