Programme description

This BIP is designed for students who want to learn or deepen their knowledge of invasive alien species and their influence on biological diversity and ecosystem services. Invasive alien species are one of the greatest threats to biodiversity. It is an international course, free of charge for EU GREEN students.

In-presence Component

Programme location

University of Évora, Évora, Portugal

In-presence component description

Students will spend a week at the University of Évora, Portugal, carrying out practical exercises, study visits and lectures. Different aquatic habitats will be visited to study invasive animals and plants.

Virtual Component

Virtual component description

After a month of theoretical online classes, students will continue with the in-person component in Évora.

Requirements

Academic pre-requisites for applicants

Students with a first-cycle degree comprising at least 180 ECTS credits in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Agriculture, Law, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Forestry, Veterinary Sciences, Biotechnology, Biogeology, Communication Sciences or Geographical Information Systems, or equivalent, and English language proficiency equivalent to Level 2.
