Ecological restoration is a relevant science and a key practical tool for biodiversity conservation, aiming to recreate, initiate and accelerate ecosystem recovery after disturbance. This BIP is designed to equip students with the skills and competencies to navigate ecological and conservation challenges, integrating analytical and operational expertise to implement restoration plans effectively.

Upon successful completion of this BIP, students will be able to comprehend the scientific and practical foundations of ecological restoration; analyse complex ecological contexts; assess and prioritise threats and pressures on ecosystems; design and develop ecological restoration plans; implement restoration projects; monitor and evaluate restoration initiatives; collaborate effectively in transnational teams; and formulate practical strategies for restoring degraded ecosystems.

Requirements
Academic pre-requisites for applicants
This BIP is designed for graduate and post-graduate students, including Master's and PhD candidates, and is also open to Bachelor's students. Participation is open to students with a background in natural sciences; candidates interested in ecological restoration are welcome.

Selection will be based on the evaluation of submitted CVs, statements of personal motivation, academic performance, and further qualifications and skills.
