Programme description

The global green transition is reshaping the economic landscape. European regions and companies must become simultaneously competitive, sustainable, and ethical. In this new context, economists, negotiators, and entrepreneurs are the architects of transformation — capable of understanding the interconnections between regional economy, international trade, global governance, and environmental change.
The BIP “Green Dealmakers: Negotiating Sustainable Futures in a Global Economy” trains students to become leaders of the green transition, combining economic reasoning, behavioral analysis, international negotiation, and sustainable innovation. Through collaboration between universities in the EUGreen alliance, participants will learn how to negotiate, design, and implement sustainable economic partnerships at local, regional, and global levels — in the spirit of the European Green Deal.
The study programme aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competences necessary to understand and manage sustainable economic processes in a globalized context. It focuses on the development of analytical, negotiation, and decision-making abilities related to the green transition, integrating perspectives from European economics, international business, green economy, and behavioral economics.

In-presence component description

The in-presence component of the BIP brings together students and academic staff from partner universities for an intensive week of collaborative learning at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Oradea.
The programme combines interactive lectures, workshops, case studies, group work, and expert presentations delivered by academics, practitioners and public administration representatives. Students work in international teams to analyse real sustainability challenges, negotiate solutions from multiple stakeholder perspectives, and develop innovative recommendations aligned with the objectives of the European Green Deal and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Beyond the academic activities, the physical mobility provides participants with opportunities to strengthen their intercultural communication skills, develop international networks, and experience collaborative problem-solving in a multicultural environment. Visits to local institutions and interactions with decision-makers enable students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical examples of sustainable regional development.
The in-person component concludes with the completion and submission of a collaborative project, integrating the knowledge and competencies acquired throughout both the virtual and physical phases of the programme. This approach fosters critical thinking, teamwork, negotiation skills and the ability to design sustainable solutions for complex economic and societal challenges.

The virtual component provides the academic foundation of the Blended Intensive Programme and prepares participants for the collaborative activities carried out during the physical mobility.
Delivered through the Moodle learning platform, the virtual phase combines asynchronous learning materials with synchronous online sessions led by academic staff from the partner universities. Students explore the key concepts of the European Green Deal, sustainable development, ESG principles, innovation, entrepreneurship, international negotiation, public policies and smart regional development.
Throughout the virtual component, participants engage with multimedia learning resources, readings, case studies and online discussions that encourage critical thinking and intercultural exchange. The online activities enable students to acquire a common knowledge base while becoming familiar with the multidisciplinary perspectives that will be further explored during the in-person mobility.
The virtual component also facilitates early collaboration among participants from different countries, allowing them to exchange ideas, discuss sustainability challenges and begin developing an international learning community before meeting in person.
Together, the virtual and physical components create an integrated learning experience that promotes active participation, collaborative problem-solving and the development of practical solutions to contemporary sustainability challenges.
