OVGU Biodiversity Lab

The OVGU Biodiversity Lab, which is designed as a near-natural experiential space, is divided into different areas and offers a wide variety of habitats for wild flora and fauna: from a low-nutrient meadow to a beetle cellar and deadwood pile to a sandarium. The EU GREEN pavilion @OVGU faces east-west along its length. The classic lawn bordering it to the south was stopped to be mowed regularly. It is being sustainably transformed into a biodiverse area for native or ancient species (autochtones or archeobiota). Suggestions, ideas, and support did not only originate from the three team members (Stefan, Anna, Ian), but also from many interested citizens of Magdeburg and active members, friends and supporters of the OVGU community.
